This is the logo that the state of Florida debuted today as part of a branding effort to lure businesses to the state. The logo immediately drew criticism from women’s groups and female business leaders in the state for being sexist, based on the way it uses a man’s tie. “Business needs to be all-inclusive and a ‘tie’ although it binds and is a bit clever, is now dividing,” Emily McHugh, chief executive of Casauri, a women’s accessories company in Fort Pierce, Florida, wrote on Facebook. Do you agree? Is it unethical or merely in poor taste?
