Yesterday on the Feast of St. Francis De Sales, Pope Francis released a message concerning technology, media, and the fostering of a “culture of encounter,” or the securing of a rich sense of neighborliness. The message, which can be found on the Vatican’s website, is very much worth reading and reflecting on. As we interact with our technology each day—smartphones, tablets, computers—it’s essential that we keep in mind how technology can enrich our relationships with each other, instead of undermining our relationships with each other. Please take a few minutes to read the Pope’s message and to reflect on how you use technology, these “gifts from God.”
